Working with my friends from Mos Scocious, I created this poster using Adobe Illustrator to promote an upcoming show they had on their tour this year. I was thinking about neon lights when I made it. My friend Hugo Aguilar contacted me to submit an illustration for his upcoming chronicle, Unterkunst Magazine. They are looking to promote midwestern artists and to have content ranging from political satire to film reviews.

Working with Eric Frankel, the art director I worked with previously on Sturcturally Sound, I developed these conceptual logos for the independent sci-fi film, Bowshock. Also included in the gallery below are the logos in patch mock-ups- they may be a part of the costume design.

Adapted from Gwendolyn Brook’s poem, We Real Cool, The Pool Players is an animated short visualizing the poem, with Brooks’ voice heard as she recites her famous classic. Created with Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

+ Launch Dialtones Poster Gallery

Two poster concepts and an album design done at Columbia College for Dialtones: A Cell Phone Symphony at the Chicago Theatre. The show was about a symphony created by calling the audiences’ cell phones and their ringing patterns.

+ Launch Turkwich Manual

An instructional manual detailing the construction of a turkey sandwich. The Turkwich Manual is multilingual, using only numbers and illustrations to guide. Created for Sequential Imaging at University of Westminster in 2008.

+ Launch Book Jackets Gallery

The idea is to re-brand aging Science Fiction novels by creating new jacket artwork. Using the influence of Milton Glaser and his retro feel, I designed these illustrations to appeal to young adults and elders. Created as an entry for the 2008 D&AD Awards while studying at Westminster Uni, London.

This illustration was made when I was living with a bunch of cats. I was testing out Adobe Illustrator’s pressure sensitivity with a pen tablet. Very interesting stuff. I have also included the uncolored version for reference, below.

Chosen for my “Person of the Year” assignment at Columbia College, this illustration celebrates Time Magazine’s classic editorial design with my pick for the hypothetical person that year- Barack Obama. Created with Corel Painter and Adobe Illustrator.

A nod to to vintage orange crate box artwork with Thelonious Monk as a caricature for the mascot. Created while at Columbia College with Corel Painter and Adobe Illustrator in Fred Nelson’s class.
